What to Wear to Work: For the Safety-Obsessed

Workwear is such a huge area right now in terms of usage and vast in terms of industries. I will focus mostly on logistics and warehousing and the types of attire ideally required for working in these fields. 

Warehouse Workwear

Warehouse work mostly if not all takes place indoors. Lets take a look at some key piece of workwear that can be worn everyday here. Hi Vis Yellow is an ideal choice where lighting can be dim. Certain areas in warehousing can be dim to say the least, such as under pallet shelfing or staircases. The colour yellow really plays an important part as it stands out in darker backgrounds like brick walls or concrete based walls. I suggest going for yellow safety hoodies or yellow hi vis vests.

Forklift Drivers

As a driver of these load shifting vehicles, it important to be seen amongst heavy load vehicles like lorries. High Visibility Orange is the go-to hi-vis colour if operating outside in a loading yard. Neon Yellow is the go-to colour if operating inside a warehouse. 

In terms of style, you need to find workwear that's comfortable. Of course, you have to wear something that doesn't get in the way of operating forklifts properly. Safety is key, so go for a east to wear hi-vis fleece sweatshirt or hi-vis fleece hoodie. It’s here that fabric choice becomes extremely important. Fleece is comfy and stretchy, and wont get in the way of driving. 

If its a warm day then opt for a hi-vis vest teamed up with a hi-vis tshirt. 

LGV Workwear

For LGV drivers we recommend wearing a full hi-vis uniform, that is trousers and top or jacket. Being noticed while stepping out of a vehicle is paramount to the drivers safety. Go for workwear with excellent breathability, maximum ventilation is key if your on long journeys.
